2024 Hair Trend Forecast

As 2023 winds to a close we’re looking ahead, and checking with the experts, to get a sneak peek at the big hair trends we can expect to see for 2024. It definitely looking a bit Y2K and... we’re not mad at it. In fact, we’re booking our hair appointments and saving inspo pics now. Let’s dive in!

Warm Color Tones

The past few years have been dominated by cool, icy undertones to hair colors, but we’re putting that to bed for a while and embracing warm, honeyed tones. Blondes are going honey in tone, like Shailene Woodley, while brunettes are opting for “latte” and bronde shades. For those willing to embrace a bolder look, and the maintenance that comes with it, red shades are THE look of 2024. Think cherry cola, think cranberry.

Short Cuts

Ready for a big chop? We’re seeing major cuts ahead for 2024. Everything from parisian bobs - the soft bob cut just below the ear - to 90s inspired pixies, like Taylor Hill’s Linda Evangelista-inspired cut. We’re ready to chop off the weight of the past few years and start fresh!

Bold Layers

You’ve heard these terms over the past year: the wolf cut, butterfly cut, and the old standby, the shag haircut. They’re still kicking in 2024, though migrating towards the slightly chicer “ kitty cut.” Whether you’re embracing longer or shorter hair, bold, face framing layers are in, but in a slightly more tempered, streamlined way. That means less shaggy, with layers that blend a bit more.

Natural Hair

While it’s debatable that this could actually be considered a “trend,” we certainly saw people embrace their natural texture and curls anew during the pandemic, and that’s not slowing down. With the growth achieved over the past few years, bring your curls into 2024 by adding some soft layers, bangs, or even going asymmetrical.

Accessories Galore

Late 2023 brought back the hairbow and accessories will continue to trend in 2024. We saw headbands back on the runway, and bows are not going anywhere. It’s a great year to stock up on accessories to add a little extra something to your wardrobe.

What are you looking forward to in 2024?
